Per superare la distanza dalla figlia Maya, che vive in un altro Paese, un padre le chiede ogni giorno di regalargli un titolo. Da questo semplice rituale nasce una serie di storie animate artigianali, in cui Maya diventa l’eroina di mondi creati con carta, nastro adesivo e forbici. Michel Gondry trasforma l’animazione a ritaglio in un gesto poetico d’affetto, celebrando l’immaginazione come ponte tra luoghi, generazioni ed emozioni.

To overcome the distance from his daughter Maya, who lives in another country, a father asks her each day to give him a title. From this simple ritual, a series of handmade animated stories is born, with Maya as the heroine of worlds created from paper, tape and scissors. Michel Gondry turns cutout animation into a poetic gesture of affection, celebrating imagination as a bridge between places, generations and emotions.

Michel Gondry è un regista, sceneggiatore e produttore francese nato a Versailles nel 1963. Celebre per l’inventiva visiva e l’uso artigianale degli effetti speciali, si è affermato inizialmente nei videoclip per artisti come Björk e Daft Punk. Ha raggiunto il successo internazionale con Se mi lasci ti cancello, vincitore dell’Oscar alla miglior sceneggiatura originale. Il suo cinema esplora spesso sogno, memoria, immaginazione infantile e trasformazione della realtà quotidiana.

Michel Gondry is a French director, screenwriter and producer born in Versailles in 1963. Celebrated for his visual inventiveness and handcrafted special effects, he first gained recognition through music videos for artists including Björk and Daft Punk. He reached international acclaim with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. His cinema often explores dreams, memory, childhood imagination and the transformation of everyday reality.
