La mattina del suo quindicesimo compleanno, Bella si muove tra le stanze di casa cercando di cancellare le tracce della notte appena trascorsa e di una trasformazione che sente ormai irreversibile. Mentre il padre, premuroso e protettivo, rappresenta un’infanzia che fatica a lasciarla andare, Bella affronta il delicato equilibrio tra ciò che è stata e ciò che sta diventando. Attraverso gesti minimi e silenzi carichi di significato, il film racconta il passaggio all’adolescenza come un momento intimo e vulnerabile, fatto di scoperta, pudore e desiderio di autonomia. Un ritratto sensibile della crescita, in cui il corpo e l’identità chiedono spazio e ascolto.

On the morning of her fifteenth birthday, Bella quietly tries to hide the traces of the night before and of a change she can no longer ignore. Moving through her home, she navigates the tension between her protective father—still holding on to her childhood—and her emerging sense of self. Through small gestures and unspoken emotions, the film captures adolescence as a fragile threshold marked by discovery, secrecy, and the desire for independence. With restraint and empathy, the story reflects on the moment when body and identity begin to shift, inviting young audiences to recognize growth as a complex process of becoming, shaped as much by vulnerability as by courage.

Born into a family of actors, Mathilde grew up backstage, surrounded by theatre and performance. After establishing herself as an actress in theatre, film, and television in Denmark, she is now focusing on directing. Drawing on her acting background, her work behind the camera explores intimacy, authenticity, and emotional truth, with a particular sensitivity to character-driven storytelling and nuanced performances.
